Mission Details | Building Bridges
Hello + welcome to our eighteenth collective mission.
Let's get back to the core message! It's been 2 years of the COVID-19 pandemic, + though research has evolved, the benefits of vaccination, testing, + boosting are more + more certain. While the facts around the core message are available, misinformation prevails causing division in our community + personal relationships. This mission asks us to get back to the core message while building bridges in our communities. First, learn about the misinformation out there + the facts to combat it. Then, use bridging statements in your conversations with compassion + hope to come together. Doing these small steps can help Virginians stay healthy + safe!

🚨 Get misinformation alerts. Review topics of misinformation + address those in high risk
💬 Build a bridge. Using bridging statements, tackle misinformation with sincere compassion + hope to come to a middle ground.
🛠 Grab a tool. Be prepared to answer tough questions with the facts. Whether you have two minutes or a couple of hours, we've got you covered. Our library is here to help!

🚨 Get Misinformation Alerts. Tackle high-risk topics by addressing + debunking the misinformation. Though factual information is available, most of the time it is drowned in the noise of misinformation. Public Health Communications Collaborative has created this resource that reports recent misinformation + if it should be addressed through alerts categorized as high, medium, or low risk. Be sure to bookmark the site + review weekly.
💬 Build a bridge.
In 2 years of this pandemic, the research + information available has evolved, but clearly points back to the benefits of vaccination, testing, + boosting. During this time, misinformation has continuously weakened the message + created a divide in our communities + between our relationships. Mission 18 asks you to continue to help keep everyone in Virginia healthy + safe by focusing on the core message of this pandemic with the most important + factual information available through bridging statements. These statements help address tough questions with compassion, a sincere interest in understanding, + a sincere hope that you will meet closer to the middle by the end of your conversation. Follow this guide to get through tough questions + let us know how you used the bridging statements in your community.

This mission directs ambassadors back to the core message on the benefits of testing, vaccinating, + boosting to help stop the spread of COVID-19
+ help keep our communities safe + healthy.
